Danger My Ally
Danger My Ally was written by F.A. Mitchell-Hedges himself and re-published by Jim Honey, owner of The Castle. This book is an easy and exciting read about the adventures that filled the life of this fascinating man. Follow his adventures around the world and to the Crystal Skull of Doom.
DANGER MY ALLY is a softbound book containing 255 pages of text and 70 photographic illustrations.
Text from the insert from Danger My Ally, by F A Mitchell Hedges, 1954:
“To see part of the world that no man has trodden; to own a treasure that no one else possesses; to live excitingly and to enjoy this - this for me is fun.” these are the words of F.A. Mitchell Hedges, once penniless boy, now millionaire explorer collector, Pancho Villa’s fighting General, a man whose adventures are as weird and varied as the items in his museum. Lizards eight feet long, with blue heads, and black ringed bodies; crabs three feet long with claws like a man’s fist - these are some of the creatures he has seen and photographed. Shrunken heads, crystals skulls, poisoned skeletons, priceless jewels - these are some of his prized collector’s pieces. His journeying into unknown counties, where he discovered traces of pre flood civilisations, to the Indian Ocean where he fought and caught giant fish weighting up to two and half tons - these and more are described here by a man to whom the British Museum and other institutions pay homage for his prehistoric finds. But in his autobiography, this modern Odysseus in addition to telling the story of his experiences in exploration, archaeology, and deep-sea fishing, talks frankly on more controversial subjects as well. Mitchell Hedges is a man who has never lived according to the rules and conventions laid down by society and has often quite blatantly defied them, and so he occasionally had to join battle, not only with the elements and monsters of the sea, but with his fellow-explorers and those whom he called “armchair scientists”. In this book for the first time, he exposes the background of his struggles against apathy, misrepresentation and exploitation. Danger My Ally is an altogether fascinating book.

Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love Essence
The Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love Essence is purified water that has been vibrationally charged by the Mitchell-Hedges skull. Thanks to the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, we have learned a number of things about water. Good water always takes on the shape of a crystal. Dr. Emoto’s work also shows that to a large degree water take on the energies of whatever it has been exposed to. In this case the water has taken on the energies of the Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love.
So far many people have put their own crystals or crystal skulls near objects such as the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull so that their crystal or crystal skull will include the energies of the Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love. Most caretakers of crystals and crystal skulls expose their crystals to many different energies. The Essence carries only the frequencies of the Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love. Water can not carry all the energies of The Crystal Skull, but it contains the energies to such a degree that aside from actually physically being with the Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love, the Essence is the purest and most direct way to connect with The Skull.
There are a number of ways to use the Essence. If you have not personally met The Mitchell-Hedges Skull of Love this is an excellent way to connect with it knowing that you are not connecting with any other energies. You can spray your aura to fill your auric field with The Skull’s frequencies. You can spray into your mouth to take the energies more directly into your system. You can hold the bottle just as you would hold a crystal or crystal skull to connect. You can take the Essence to vortexes or other power spots to activate those spots with the energies of The Skull. In this way many people and many places can have the opportunity to connect with The Skull of Love. Be creative with the Essence. Let it guide you in other ways of using it. The main thing in using the Essence is to intend to connect, open and receive.

The Crystall Skull Mystery
Karin Tag
Crystal skulls are puzzling artifacts that possess an enticing beauty. After decades of speculation, this book finally addresses the question whether or not these skulls “possess” a type of energy – which many people have claimed they do. With the help of sensational photographs, the author proves that these objects really possess energy, of a type that we have not even dared to dream.
Are these skulls evidence of a lost culture? What role do they play in the development of humanity? Karin Tag, herself in the possession one of these puzzling objects, shows that the crystal skulls are bearers of astonishing energy and can influence the energy field of people and objects.
Photon camera photographs of these skulls show that:
- crystal skulls exchange photon energy;
- a crystal skull decisively influences the force field of places (e.g., Stonehenge, Cheops pyramid, etc.);
- the energy field of a person is influenced by a crystal skull, which leads to unexpected chances of self-healing.

“Skull of Love” painting
Marilyn M. Belle-Isle is an accomplished artist from Webster, New York. For over twenty-five years, she has worked in fine arts and her paintings have been included in many juried exhibitions. Her works have received numerous awards including Best of Show on several occasions. Her art can be found in churches, businesses, and private collections.
After participating in a Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull Workshop in June 2007 held in Upstate New York, Marilyn felt inspired to do this oil painting. During a dream, she saw the crystal skull surrounded by a golden luminous liquid. Then words such as “bee-ing”, “share the sweetness of honey (love)”, “connect with universal consciousness”, “heart-centered”, and “the golden feminine energy” entered her mind. Both the dream image and the words seemed to flow into the painting process, resulting in this painting.
Numerous layers of transparent colors have been applied to the canvas. Honeycomb patterns, glowing as a subtle heart are in the background, in contrast to a blue-violet color emanating from the skull itself. Sometimes, the skull seems to shape-shift almost as if the image is in a liquid state. Marilyn describes the end result as “an incredible painting journey”.
You can purchase giclee fine art reproductions of this painting (11”x14”) here.

The Man & the Mystery
F.A. “Mike” Mitchell-Hedges (22 October 1882 - June 1959) was an English adventurer, traveller, and writer – for many, he is the real Indiana Jones, if not a James Bond as well.
Mitchell-Hedges spent some years alternating between Central America, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Some sources say he was a mercenary, others that he was a British government spy, and others that he was independently wealthy and travelling for diversion.
The Crystal Skull
Today, Mitchell-Hedges is best known for his connection to a famous crystal skull: “The Skull of Doom”. Arthur C Clarke made the skull into his signature logo for his popular television series, Arthur C Clarke’s Mysterious World, and of course, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, where Mitchell-Hedges receives two mentions.
Mitchell-Hedges mentioned the skull in the first edition of his autobiography, Danger My Ally (1954), without specifying where or by whom it was found. He merely stated that “it is at least 3,600 years old and according to legend was used by the High Priest of the Maya when performing esoteric rites. It is said that when he willed death with the help of the skull, death invariably followed”. Later editions of Danger My Ally omitted this rather intriguing paragraph. Why, no-one knows.
In an affidavit, Anna Hedges, his adopted daughter, claimed that she found the skull buried under a collapsed altar inside a temple in Lubaantun, in British Honduras, now Belize. Others believe Mitchell-Hedges bought the skull from an antiques dealer in New York or that the skull was purchased at auction in 1943. Others argue that Mitchell-Hedges could never tell how he acquired the skull, as no-one would believe him. Could truth be stranger than fiction?
The Perfect Artefact
The skull is made from a block of clear quartz (although the jaw detaches), 5 inches (13 cm) high, 7 inches (18 cm) long and 5 inches wide. It is about the size of a small human cranium, with near perfect detail.
In 1970, art restorer Frank Dorland was given permission to submit the skull to tests at the internal Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. According to Dorland, the skull had been carved with total disregard to the natural crystal axis and no metal tools were used. Dorland claimed he was unable to find any tell-tale scratch marks, except for traces of mechanical grinding on the teeth. From tiny patterns near the carved surfaces, Dorland determined it was first chiselled into rough form, probably using diamonds. The finer shaping, grinding and polishing, Frederick claimed, was done with sand over a period of 150 to 300 years.
A Great Enigma
The debate whether the skull is pre- or post-Columbian continues to rage and divide opinions. As the skull is made from quartz, no carbon or any other dating techniques can be performed on it. Though some argue evidence of wheels shows it is post-Columbian, other experts argue that is not at all the case.
The enigma, and controversy continues…

Crystal Skull, Superstar?
Being at the Cannes Film Festival and Monte Carlo was an unbelievable experience. Being on a super yacht there, pushed it over the top.
We arrived in Cannes and the town was filled with people from all over the world. There were many outdoor restaurants on every side street and corner. It felt as if one big party was happening… and I guess it was. We drove into town, working our way through the small and very crowded streets, back and forth, finely finding the dock. At the dock a small boat was waiting for us, and we pilled all our luggage in, heading out to sea. Our yacht was a good 20 minute trip, and as we got closer, we could see the ships kept getting bigger and bigger. The O’Mega looked like a small ocean liner, 300 feet, awesome, really nice. I think I can call this home. The adventure was starting.
The two closest ships moored to us were owned by Brad Pitt, and the other side was Steven Spielberg. So I had to say that were my new neighbours. I thought that this was going to be a great trip.
After two days there, during which many new people came to see the Skull, we headed to Monte Carlo and the Grand Prix. In Monte Carlo we were able to dock the ship. One leg of the Grand Prix went right next to the harbour, so one could sit out on the deck, and have the race pass right in front. Hearing, and having the cars speed by at over 150 mph, is something I will always remember. Being docked we were also able to walk and explore the town. The beauty and history were unforgettable. The Skull was again very busy. I was able to work with small groups, three to six at a time, wanting to see and experience the energy of the Skull.
If I was asked what stood out from such an unbelievable experience, I would have to say the people. They were all so different, interesting, a real pleasure, and honour to meet. I truly enjoyed a really great adventure.

Mitchell-Hedges and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls
The latest issue of NEXUS Magazine carries an article by Philip Coppens on the circumstances in which the Mitchell-Hedges skull was potentially discovered. It argues that Mitchell-Hedges was able to lay his hands on this skull in 1913-1914, and that there is evidence, in his novel “The White Tiger” – published in 1931 – that the skull was in his possession many decades before he “officially” purchased it – making him the legal owner, with no questions asked – in 1943.
It is a remarkable coincidence how this article corresponds with part of the plotline of the new Indiana Jones movie. Note how in the movie, Indiana Jones explains how he once rode – “well, technically I was kidnapped” – with Pancho Villa. It is then learned that Harry Oxley and Indiana Jones have been obsessed with the skull – in the movie, actually the Mitchell-Hedges skull – since university, and the plot of the film is actually around Indy trying to find out where Oxley has disappeared to – which leads them to the kingdom of the crystal skull. Well, make this the story of Mitchell-Hedges – who rode – i.e. was kidnapped – by Pancho Villa and Ambrose Bierce, who disappeared somewhere in Mexico… and you might have the true story of how the Mitchell-Hedges skull was discovered. Or how art…?
Want to know more? NEXUS Magazine says it all – or at least opens the way that will lead to the truth.
Fortean Times unlocks the Mystery of the Crystal Skulls
The English magazine Fortean Times sent Gordon Rutter – which they claim is the nearest thing they could find to Indiana Jones – in search of the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the truth behind one of the 20th century’s most popular and enduring mysteries. Fortean Times and NEXUS are the two leading alternative newsstand magazines in the United Kingdom, which means that at the present moment, the Mitchell-Hedges skull dominates the English alternative landscape. Now why would that be?
The skull on the SciFi channel
The Sci Fi Channel signalled the release of the fourth Indiana Jones movie by showing all three blockbusters back to back, followed by the premiere of the original investigative special “Mystery of the Crystal Skulls”, hosted by NBC News’ Lester Holt on Sunday, May 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
From the Sci Fi Channel’s promotional material: “The documentary explores the true history of the legendary relics, unearthing the myths, legends and controversies that surround them. Could the skulls be ancient Mayan prophecies of doom or relics from the Lost City of Atlantis? Or do they, as some believe, store the vast knowledge of a highly advanced extraterrestrial civilization. To try to answer these questions, Sci Fi has launched an unprecedented expedition into the jungles of Belize to track down the missing skulls. It’s a quest worthy of Indiana Jones himself and one that tries to unlock the knowledge about humanity’s imminent destiny.
Holt follows in the footsteps of British explorer and adventurer Frederick Mitchell-Hedges, an inspiration for the fictional Indiana Jones character, whose daughter discovered the first ancient crystal skull in the 1920s in the Mayan ruin of Lubaantun. Bill Homann, a modern-day adventurer and caretaker of the Mitchell-Hedges’ skull, joins Lester on the quest that takes them through the treacherous jungles of Belize and in the rough waters off the Honduran coast.
Together, with clues that Homann obtained from Mitchell-Hedges’ daughter and local Mayans, they go in search of another missing skull while surviving bat-ridden caves and alligator infested rivers. Along the way, they come across amazing discoveries including a hidden Mayan temple that could house more treasures.
Granted access to newly performed lab tests on several skulls, the show will examine the results to unlock these mysteries and find out how these skulls could have been made and what powers they may possess. The special, shot in HD, is produced by NBC’s Peacock Productions in association with Sci Fi.”

The Daily Mail: Mitchell-Hedges the real Indiana Jones
In his lifetime, Mitchell-Hedges had a special relationship with the British newspaper The Daily Mail. In the run-up to the new Indiana Jones movie, their April 28, 2008 edition devoted an in-depth article on whether he is the real Indiana Jones – and who he was.
The skull makes the NEXUS cover
Issue 15.3 of NEXUS magazine (April-May edition) has the article “Origin & Symbolism of the Crystal Skulls” by Philip Coppens. It was also used to provide the cover artwork. The article tackles the crystal skulls in general, arguing that they were most likely created in Central America and may have played an important role in the Mayan priests’ re-enactment of their creation myth. The author also addresses the sceptics’ pet theories that they were late 19th century creations. The Mitchell-Hedges skull features prominently in the article, but the next issue will have an exclusive article that will present a new scenario as to how the Mitchell-Hedges skull may have been discovered.
The Dorland photographs
These magnificent high quality photographs were taken by Frank Dorland whist the Crystal Skull was in his care during the 1960’s. These will now be available in the very near future from Vandria Dorland. Details will be posted on this site as soon as we have made all the necessary arrangements for order, payment and shipment.

About
Bill Homann
Bill Homann is the current owner and caretaker of the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull. Anna “Sammy” Mitchell-Hedges spent the last eight years of her life living in Bill’s home under his tender care. She passed away on April 11th (Bill’s birthday), at the age of 100 years young. It is Bill’s desire and hope, to carry on Sammy and her father’s legacy with the Crystal Skull.
Bill Homann was born in the small charming town of La Porte, Indiana. La Porte means “The Door” and is woven around thirteen pristine lakes. Since he still makes Indiana his home, it seems quite fitting to call him “Indy”. After all, he has the same adventurous spirit as F.A. Mitchell-Hedges; his hero and the true “Indiana Jones”.
Bill had quite a bit of excess energy in his youth and soon became aware that Martial Arts was the perfect way to direct and balance this energy. Bill realized that the essence of Martial Arts is love and found that it taught him how to focus on inner peace and how to love himself; which Bill discovered was fundamental to loving others.
In his teenage years Bill studied Judo. While in the service he studied Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Aikido. In 1969 he received his 1st degree black belt in Soryu Karate Do while in stationed in Panama.
After the service and back in Indiana, Bill’s search of a Martial Arts school nearby came up nil. In 1971 he decided to open his own school because “he wanted people to work out with”. Thus, the Michigan City Karate Academy was opened for business.

In 1984 Bill met and studied with George Dillman, the father of the modern art form of Pressure Point Theory and Manipulation. Bill soon realized that the study of Tuite-jitsu and Kyusho-jitsu (one second knock out) was his ultimate goal. Bill has been working with Dillman to this day to bring these art forms to their perfected states.
Bill’s lifetime dedication and hard work in the Martial Arts has finally paid off. Today he is an 8th degree Black Belt Master in Ryukyu Kempo, which is a form of karate developed in Okinawa. Between 2001 and 2002, Bill was inducted into 4 Karate Hall of Fames.
Through the years Bill has also taught at various YMCA’s and at many Police Departments. He has also been featured on TV and in many Martial Arts magazines, and produced his own karate DVD’s.
Currently, Bill and his son Brett are partners and co owners of “Homann Karate Do” in Crown Point, Indiana. You can still find Bill teaching classes there in the evenings and enjoying every moment of it.
Bill believes that both the Crystal Skull and Martial Arts incorporate the mastering of energy flow. Just like the Martial Arts, the Skull balances the mental, physical and emotional bodies through helping one learn self understanding.
Donna DeMay
Donna DeMay is the Business Director for all Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull endeavors––including Scheduling, Event Coordination, Facilitating, Public Relations and Correspondence.
Donna is also an ordained minister in the Order of Melchizedek, a Certified Reiki Master, and Certified Practitioner of Advanced Holistic Wellness and Spiritual Psychology. She serves as the coordinator for “Rainbow Travel Sacred Journeys”, a founder of “The Rainbow Light Meditation Group”, and is a Board Member of “Conscious Evolution: Community for Enhanced Living”.
Donna lives in Rochester, New York – The home of Eastman Kodak, Xerox and Bausch & Lomb – the “Light” technology industries of the 20th century. Donna worked at Eastman Kodak for, what she refers to, as “Thirty five inspired years”, and finally retired in 2006 after much profound, inventive and rewarding work.
When Donna first started at Kodak she was a model, and she held the title of “The most photographed model in the world” in 1970 and 1971. However, fearing that smiling eight hours a day as a model would not only cause wrinkles but would contribute to brain atrophy as well, she transferred to the firms “Film Analytical Chemistry Research Department” and became an accomplished and valuable lab technician. While this developed her knowledge and acumen with film, Donna wearied of sniffing the toxic chemicals, tolerating the constant holes that regularly burned through her clothing, and the fear that her skin would someday “turn blue”.

This is when she made the pivotal decision to move on. And so it was, in 1981, that Donna was teamed up with a Corporate Development PhD. and given the challenging assignment of proving that “Digital Imaging Simulations” could replace photographic and chemical research for film and photographic paper design. Due to the groundbreaking success of Donna’s collaborative work, in 1982 the new “Digital and Imaging Research Labs” were formed––which eventually employed 300 scientists. This breakthrough process created a whole new industry, and proved its efficiency by virtually putting an end to the use of regular film; and thus the whole new industry of digital imaging was initiated.
Donna met Sammy and the Crystal Skull in 1989 and found herself instantly drawn to Sammy’s spirit, and was intrigued by her many stories. They soon became fast friends and Donna visited her often through the years while Sammy was still living only a few hours away across the Canadian border.
Extraordinary experiences occurred each and every time Donna connected with the skull and one in particular was the manifestation of a perfect opal within the matrix of Egyptian limestone. The wonder of that moment convinced Donna that the Crystal Skull was and is truly magical.
When Sammy moved to Indiana with Bill Homann, Donna continued her visits, and met Bill in the year 2000. Almost instantly it felt like Donna’s home away from home and her second family.
After Sammy’s passing in April 2007, Bill asked Donna to be his partner and Business Manager to help him with the Crystal Skull work. After seriously thinking about it for 2 seconds, Donna accepted the challenge. And since that time, Donna and Bill have worked together, traveling as a team, and making it possible to honor Sammy’s dearest wish: to bring the Crystal Skull to as many people as possible.
Jon Rolls

Jon Rolls lives in the little Priory town of Christchurch in the UK, which is coincidentally very close to where MH and Sammy used to live during their time at Sandbanks, Fordingbridge and the New Forest. Like MH and Sammy, Jon is also a keen fisherman, although, unlike MH and Sammy, prefers to hook fish that are considerably smaller than the boat he’s fishing from.
Jon has been an advertising copywriter for 20 years - 8 of which were spent in London at Saatchi & Saatchi, at that time the world’s biggest advertising agency group.
Four years ago, Jon wrote a fictional film script entitled ‘Legend of the Crystal Skulls’. The synopsis was posted on a script website and attracted the attention of Cris Winter. Cris encouraged Jon to read MH’s 1954 autobiographical bestseller ‘Danger My Ally’ and a year later, Jon, Cris, Bill and Sammy spent a fortnight together putting the finishing touches to a feature length screenplay and four one-hour docudramas.
Cris Winter
Cris lives in Scotland very near the historical town of St Andrews. Like F A Mitchell-Hedges, he is a rebel by nature and in some ways they shared the same boyhood dreams and dramas and the quest for discovery.
In 1969 having very little money and jobless he embarked on a moment of utter madness and started with his partner the world’s first Baked Potato Shop in Edinburgh next to the Golf Tavern on the links. Some of Cris’ enterprises are still going and flourishing in Edinburgh.
In late 1988 Cris having the bug for adventure up stakes, literally “gave away all his interests in another moment of utter madness”, paid off all debts and set off on a round the world quest.
It was during that quest he first met Sammy in May 1989 in Kitchener. She greeted him at the door with words “Hello… you are a lucky boy … she went on to clarify that “today is when I have an open house to see the skull and you are the only one here” … from that day all of Cris’ plans were to change.
Over the years he has met and stayed with Sammy on a number of occasions. In 1994 he arranged and took Marion Sunderland (The Green Stone & Eye of Fire) to put the Green Stone with the Crystal Skull. It was on that trip that Cris met Bill Homann for the first time.
In 2003 by a very fortuitous and coincidental set of circumstances he met Jon Rolls. That meeting was to open up a whole new set of avenues and Jon and Cris co-wrote the film script Danger My Ally as both a 4 part documentary and a feature film. Jon had already written the film script on the Mystery of the Crystal Skull before the present Indy film was announced. There was no doubt in their minds that a lot of the material was used by the film industry that was directly attributed to the experiences of F A Mitchell-Hedges. Even Stargate SG-1 used that same analogy in the episode called “The Crystal Skull”.
Cris says “I know there is an enormous amount of controversial information about Mitchell-Hedges and the Crystal Skull that just does not add up… but you have to read and feel the whole story. Then you get a feeling that Mitchell Hedges was writing in a sort of painful code and was trying to tell you something that he perhaps could not tell. It is only when you begin to feel the measure of the man and all he achieved that you can see clearly that perhaps there is just another side to this.”
In June 2007, Cris attended the private final laying to rest of Sammy at Shaldon in Devon. She had passed away in April of that same year. “It was a highly emotional event and it was then that we all decided to make some big waves.”
Very soon afterwards the film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was announced and very soon after that we were on board with a documentary film director to make the story happen.
Later that same year, at a Saunière meeting in Edinburgh Cris caught up again Philip Coppens, who joined us in our endeavours. Together with Corjan de Raaf, Philip organised the revamping of the website and is involved with Bill Homann & Donna Demay in some very exciting future events in the UK & France. “We are now riding the wave we created. Where it will take us, only our dreams will know but we are going very much in the words of Mitchell-Hedges… Follow your Star.”
Nancy Timmons

Nancy Timmons is a co-facilitator for the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull Workshops and Coordinator for Indigenous Cultural Events. Nancy is also a Certified Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui System of Reiki (1996); energy body worker: Sa~Khu: Healing through the Heart with Sound, Journey and Breath; Coordinator/facilitator for “Rainbow Travel Sacred Journeys”; co-founder and co-facilitator for “The Rainbow Light Meditation Group”; Board member of “Conscious Evolution: Community for Enhanced Living”. She is also an ordained minister in the Order of Melchizedek since 1989.
Nancy Timmons currently resides in Rochester, N.Y. but she has held the belief since childhood that her ‘real’ memories can be traced to a home far, far away. She has pursued a life in the healing arts and mysteries for as long as she can remember. Teaching, healing and most importantly, learning universally, is how she describes her life in general. Every day is a practice and every experience is an opportunity for growth. She has been blessed with many teachers, and one guide in particular asked her many years ago “what is it that you really want?” She replied naively, “I wish to be a healer”. Her mentor chuckled in response: “then you better start healing… yourself”!! She now uses the skills brought back from this ongoing inward journey to assist others who are ‘remembering’ too.
Nancy considers herself very fortunate indeed to have been invited into the home of ‘Sammy’ several times over the past 15 years. The very first time Nancy sat in meditation with the Mitchell-Hedges Skull, she knew that it was something quite out of the ordinary. Her experience with the Crystal Skull is one which has shifted her perceptions of life in a very deep and profound way. The healings Nancy underwent were immediate and the clarity that followed took her down a path of greater awareness of self and others. During these visits, Sammy would always watch closely with a knowing smile. She taught Nancy about strength and courage, for the life of healing and adventure is not for the faint of heart.
Sammy always said: “remember, dear, to really live your life…let your life become an adventure”.
Nancy has worked alongside Bill Homann and Donna DeMay with the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull over the past two years and continues to offer support and assistance whenever and wherever needed.
Karin Tag
Karin Tag is the CEO and founder of the ISR-Institute and the Seraphim-Institute. She received her doctorate in holistic sciences from the University of Oregon. Karin is a Reiki Master and is certified in the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine, homeopathic therapies and Phyto therapy. She has also authored five books.
Karin lives in a small, quaint town near Frankford, Germany. She is fluent in seven languages. Since 1986, Karin has explored and researched archaeological and geological excavations.
Karin’s interest in unusual objects began while she was studying artifacts in the Senckenberg Museum in Frankford and the Jurassic Museum in Eichstätt (Germany). During her excavations she found many artifacts that she donated to these museums.
These experiences drove her into intensive studies of alternative remedial arts and research into electromagnetic fields and photon energy. This ultimately led to the development of her photon camera, which is a mixture of several methods of measuring electromagnetic fields and photon movements.
Karin opened her own institute in 1996. Since then she has lectured in physical welfare, conducted workshops and led worldwide expeditions to many spiritual sites to investigate the energetic properties of these powerful places.
Since 2007 Karin has been involved in international collaboration with many university hospitals while investigating human energy fields. She has also lectured for naturopathic organizations in the fields of alternative diagnostics methods being used in veterinarian medicine and in the care of Olympic sports horses by means of photon diagnostics.
Karin is also the caretaker of Corazon De Luz, her incredible Crystal Skull that originated from South America and is considered to be ancient. This skull is believed to be connected to the Incas from the Holy Valley of Pisaq, Cusco. Karin feels that her purpose is to use her knowledge for better understanding the energy of the crystal skulls and to show their ability to heal and protect. She would eventually like to see all the crystal skulls united.
Jim Honey
Jim (James Frederick) Honey returned to this world June 6th, 1959, 6 days before his namesake Frederick Albert Mitchell-Hedges departed. Raised on the family farm in Jordan, Ontario, Canada, Jim spent much of his younger years exploring the caves and crevices of the nearby Niagara Escarpment.
After graduating from college in 1979 he spent the next 15 years in Kitchener, Ontario, as a Field Service Technician, servicing computers throughout the countryside. It was during those travels that Jim deepened his interest in history and began collecting old and “interesting” books. He learned to scuba dive, was a founding partner in Discovery Dive Charters on Lake Erie, and a co-discoverer of several historic shipwrecks on the Great Lakes.
Jim was first introduced to Anna Mitchell-Hedges in Kitchener in 1989 just before she relocated to England. The two met again in 1994 by sheer “coincidence”. Jim and his young son Brandon began visiting Anna on a regular basis and in 1995 took up residence in her basement while he prepared the re-printing of Danger My Ally. During this time they entertained many interesting people including Shirley McLaine and Midori Fujimoto. He assisted in the production of three films, one for the BBC and the other for NTV from Japan and an “expose” by CBC’s Fifth Estate. He organized Anna’s exhibitions and together with Bill Homann they arranged the trip of a lifetime, an expedition back to Belize and Lubaantun with Anna. This was then followed up by a tour from Toronto to Chicago with Mayan Shaman, Leonardo Acal. With the help of David Hatcher-Childress and Adventures Unlimited, Danger My Ally was released, published by “Mitchell-Hedges and Honey”. Jim was appointed the Canadian Manager of the World Explorers Club, a title which he proudly holds to this day. Jim’s personal film credits include The Adventures of the Great Lakes (1993), The Fifth Estate - Mystery of the Crystal Skull (1997), The Sea Hunters Episode IV (2002) and Mysteries of the Deep (2005).
These days Jim spends his weekdays in the offices, or somewhere on the water, with Shark Marine Technologies Inc. a manufacturer of underwater remote operated vehicles. His weekends are spent exchanging philosophies with visitors to his bookstore Sangrael, in Elora, Ontario.
Living back on the family farm with his daughter Bethany, Jim was recently asked about his thoughts on Anna, her father and the Skull. He replied, “From the very first time I met Anna I felt there was a story here, so much deeper and more mysterious, that it’s unfortunate it’s been shrouded by the attention and controversy surrounding the Crystal Skull. F.A. had a message for us all. A message which he professed loudly, and lived. He put it into words in Danger My Ally, on page 254 and I quote ‘Life which is lived without zest and adventure, is not life at all!’”

British TV antics
Nothing revealed: the skull on British TV
The (channel) five documentary “Revealed” that ran on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 (repeated on June 29), titled “Legend of The Crystal Skulls” was – alas – another documentary trying to offer bogus revelations, in obvious efforts to make the documentary more than it was. At a time when dozens of documentaries are done on the skull, it is hard for lower-budget productions to get sold and hype is often the preferred method of the sales pitch. Alas, it is a sign of our times that television makers feel their documentaries need to be the absolute this, or absolute that – when it isn’t by a long shot.
We feel particularly aggrieved by the documentary makers’ depiction of Anna Mitchell-Hedges as a liar, which they somehow felt necessary to hammer home the point they hoped to make. But it is particularly annoying to see how throughout the length of the documentary, there were dozens of inaccuracies and false claims. Jane Walsh herself is probably not all too pleased either by the words put in her mouth, namely that she was the one that uncovered the 1943 Sotheby sale records for the skull, or the implied references to the MAN 1936 article discovery.
The gravest of errors committed by the documentary is that it accepted the false premise that pre-Columbian cultures did not have any tools to make the skulls. It is none other than Michael Coe who has said this statement should not be taken as dogma, yet it is precisely that which several researchers, whether Jane Walsh, Margaret Sax, or television producers such as those making this documentary, hold. It is similar to the stance archaeologists have held – and largely continue to hold – that earthquakes have never been responsible for the demise of cities or civilisations, whereas there is overwhelming scientific evidence that they are. But denial…
Furthermore, the full verdict of the Hewlett-Packard and British Museum claims – both of whom did extensive testing on the skulls, unlike the few hours Walsh has spent with the skull – were not all fully put together and explained, as if they did not matter.
However, there is worse. This picture shows to what length a director or editor will do to support arguments by false imagery. They who accuse Mike and Anna Mitchell-Hedges of falsifying their evidence have fallen into their own trap. Thomas Gann has been airbrushed out of the original picture and it was actually he, not Mitchell-Hedges, who used the dynamite. Mitchell-Hedges favoured the method of burning back the vegetation as it was so dense… Dynamite was – however much modern archaeologists seem to hate it – a method their predecessors used to excavate with.
Unless we are accused of inventing these claims, we quote what was said about Gann: “He couldn’t get into the temples very easily and was wondering what was in the centre and the easiest thing was to blow it up,” says Mas. “Perhaps that’s why they named the site the falling stones. Everything collapsed and he didn’t find anything. It’s a shame.”

Then there is Harvard University’s R.E. Merwin who visited the site in 1914 and made off with three priceless ball-court markers, which are now on display in Harvard’s Peabody Museum. It seems Mitchell-Hedges was an amateur – derived from the Latin word for “love” – in the true sense of the word, and no other sense.
The end conclusion is therefore simple: the producers have tampered with copyrighted material to suit their own case, in the most circumspect of manners: in this case the villain was airbrushed out and the one man left standing was to blame alongside his so called “bankroll”!
Furthermore, Lady Richmond-Brown was not twisted into coming on the trip; she was diagnosed with cancer and in that respect, as Mitchell-Hedges put it, “had nothing to loose”. She did return for a second visit, but was too ill for the third. She wrote her own book (Unknown Tribes Uncharted Seas), as did Jane Harvey Houlson (Blue Blaze). Both were ecstatic from their experiences with Mitchell-Hedges, but such supportive evidence was not used in the documentary.
Though we understand that documentaries want to provide a lot of airtime to scientists, in the case of Jane Walsh, we need to underline she is not an expert on Mitchell-Hedges, nor has she ever met Anna. Many of her statements as made in this documentary are personal assumptions and not firm facts themselves. Walsh gets the meeting of Sammy & Mitchell-Hedges off track and makes a yea or nay “assumption” that she had been adopted by Mitchell-Hedges. She was adopted and the papers were filed in Panama. While Mitchell Hedges retuned to the UK he “sometimes” left Anna with an English family on the island of Taboga in the Bay of Panama.
Jane Walsh also says the Anna was short of money after her father died. The man was a millionaire and was very good at pirating and hiding his wealth, as he did most of his personal information! We need to remember that the 1920s were far different than today, and jungle tribes did not accept VISA, nor could one quickly transfer money from England to Mexico or elsewhere, if needed as a matter of urgency.
It has taken years to piece together most of his life from archive material that has lain around in old trunks for many a dusty year. In a letter dated May 1944 (i.e. during World War II) he tells one of his brothers that he has the largest single collection of silver in the UK… one hundred and fifty thousands ounces of silver and not a piece older than 1819. That is 4.18 tonnes, with the majority dated to between 1600 and 1780.
The 1960 B/W BBC film ( a very short clip of a greater viewing of the silver was shown in the channel five documentary) showing Anna displaying all the Mitchell-Hedges silver collection was in itself a mass of brilliant display of opulence and wealth. When you add it up it comes to over £200,000, which is a lot of money in those days. Anna broke? Definitely not so!
The documentary also has several factual errors. The Sotheby’s sale was not reported correctly: Mitchell-Hedges did buy the Crystal Skull at auction for £400, outbidding the British Museum. It was reported in the daily newspaper of the time. Also in a letter to his brother in December 1943 he states: “‘The Collection’ grows and grows. You possible saw in the papers that I acquired that amazing Crystal Skull that was formally in the ‘Sydney Burney collection’. It is fashioned from a single block of rock crystal, exactly life size. Scientist put it at around 1800 BC and they estimate that it took five generations passing from father to son to complete. It is anthropologically perfect in every detail. A superb piece of craftsmanship. There is only one other in the world like it which is in the British Museum, and it is acknowledge not to be as fine as this… this is one item that no amount of money will induce me to sell and I have had three American museums trying”.
In another letter he says “The Anthropological journal Man has nearly devoted an entire issue to it.” In the same letter he refers to the Skull as being “world famous”. So why, when he is totally open, does he write in his book “I have reasons for not revealing” … unless he wants you to look deeper?
There are two very obvious opportunities missed here that in themselves present a mystery. The Crystal Skull was in an auction that was totally out of character with its genre. Also, Mitchell-Hedges, the art collector, had no interest at all in crystals or any artefacts of that nature, but nevertheless had to go to London very early by train and bid for it. Why does a man whose sole interest is in silver suddenly switch tracks and go for a unique piece of crystal in a furniture sale where all other items are “Chinese Porcelain - Needlework & Furniture - Important Oriental Rugs”? Unless, of course, it is as Anna said, and it was because her father was greatly surprised to learn that his Skull was placed at auction and had to react quickly to get it back.
Furthermore, there is suggestion in the documentary that Mitchell-Hedges had no prior knowledge of crystal skulls. If that were the case, then what to make of the references in his only book of fiction “White Tiger”, published in 1931 (i.e. 13 years prior to the auction), where he speaks of “Crystal Heads” as part of the Treasure of the Aztecs? This information was passed to Picturefilms, the producers of this documentary, who decided not to use this evidence. If that avenue was explored, it might have been a documentary of genuine interest, rather than the bogus revelations dished up instead.
Finally, the documentary’s conclusions were muddled in the extreme. It is a known fact that the skull existed in 1934 (as indicated in the MAN 1936 article that was used in the documentary), yet the documentary seems to allege that in 1924 the technology did not exist to create this skull, when Anna said she had found the skull – begging the question what precisely changed, technology or otherwise, between 1924 and 1934. Some viewers also came away with the impression that the documentary seemed to be arguing the skull was made in the 1950s, which is of course preposterous. In short, the documentary conclusions had all the hallmarks of one-liners, strung together in a muddled manner, so that the holes in the argument might not be seen by the viewer. We hope the viewer is more intelligent…
